It’s 11:57 and I almost forgot to post (again). My niece and nephews took pictures on Friday. While I sat inside moaning about my back. Clearly, the good times…
Spending some quality time with pain-killers, pajamas, and the criminally under-rated movie Grace of My Heart.
Watching Fresh Prince reruns with a bucket of Sweet Martha’s on my lap.

I’ve survived another sojourn to the great Minnesota Get Together. It was a little tricky this year since I somehow managed to hurt my back sitting on my ass watching two seasons of Mad Men….
Trying to convince Nolan that Jackson Browne is as good as Michael Jackson. He is not having any of it.
Did a dramatic reading of @dooce’s latest for Jaycie & Max, much uproarious laughter ensued.
There’s nothing like an achey back to make you feel like you’re 109.
Watching Teddy Kennedy’s funeral. There is something oddly comforting & nostalgic about the familiarity of the Catholic funeral mass
Having sisters rules. Conned Kelli into bringing me some Doans & Caribou.
But I, being poor, have only my dreams. I know we don’t have much time. The Spam I’m getting has turned poetic.
Suddenly the air in here smells like Trix. Not a complaint, merely bragging.
Neighbor’s car is running in their driveway & a Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana song is pouring from the speakers (the one from that commercial)
I was going to complain about the commercials in Mad Men Season 3, but then I realized I don’t get AMC and am watching the eps free
Joe Biden’s breaking my heart a little bit by choking up all over ol’ Teddy Kennedy.
My 1st mistake, discovering Mad Men Season 2 free On Demand. 2nd mistake, turning it on. 3rd mistake is still in progress
thanks to @Ericka & @kimballb I can’t stop singing the Log song from Ren & Stimpy. It’s better than bad, it’s good!
Okay, now Joe Biden’s making me flat out cry talking about how Teddy helped him through the death of his wife & daughter.
When the 4th sentence of a pretty long piece starts out with, “An uncharacteristic haze characterizes” I know I can just stop reading now.
Since I sort of work in advertising/marketing, can I count this afternoon of watching Mad Men as research?
Just One of the Guys is on Comedy Central right now, kiss my productivity goodbye.
Minneapolis probably best place for a writer to live from the Philidelphia Post-Gazette: http://tinyurl.com/np9ev5 (via @GraywolfPress)
I love that Jaycie, my 11-year-old niece, is complaining about the usability (or lack thereof) of sites she visits. It makes me proud.
Bored with rock & roll →
If I could travel back in time, I would zoom back to Friday and I would wrestle Ziggy from Nolan’s germ-covered, Tap Tap Revolution playing clutches. I would also go to bed at a decent time on…
In just over a year, MN Reads has reviewed 247 books & interviewed 55 Minnesotans about what they’re reading. Not too shabby. (via @mnreads)
Starting Maltese Falcon/Big Sleep double-feature. Sometimes I like to see the movies after reading the books.
QotD: Trash Talk →
What’s something you should throw away, but can’t? Lucky Girls by Nell Freudenberger. It’s a book I did not enjoy and yet because it’s a short story collection I can’t seem to get rid of it. I…
If this is rock & roll bookclub why are we talking about football?

One episode in and I’m already in love with the chubby redheaded dude on Top Chef.
Lorrie Moore’s A Gate in the Stairs arrived in my doorstep. Pondering skipping class. It is Lorrie Moore afterall.

Holy shit! Lorrie Moore, Robert Olen Butler and Nicholson Baker are gonna be at this year’s Twin Cities Book Fair

Neighbor’s having a basketball bouncing party outside my house & someone is singing Sunglasses at Night. If only evil thoughts could maim.
Sometimes it just feels so good to be super bitchy.
Caving in to what this day was built for -book, blanket, bed. I’ll do work later.
